Here I will place the places I like for a variety of things from salons, to groceries to local services, all opinions are my own and reviews and ratings are based on my own personal experiences, this page is not sponsored in any way.
You may have seen my highly decorative nails from time to time. I get them done here. It is by appointment only, and it varies in price depending on what you want done.
Pink Blossom Nail Salon
This is in my neighborhood and I have only tried a couple nail places in my neighborhood because it’s all about the same to me but this one particularly stands out. The manager there is so nice, I am not sure if he is the owner or not but he seems to be there all the time. The technicians are really sweet and always ask me how I am doing and are very pleasant to deal with. It is just a few dollars more than the other places in the neighborhood and I think it’s worth it. The facility is SO CLEAN. Everything comes out of plastic and my gel nails from there last FOREVER. Literally my toes last like a month. They have a very large selection of Essie and OPI and keep it pretty updated. They have massage chairs that are really nice, and they also offer waxing and some skin care solutions.
V’s and Yolanda
Another neighborhood salon. Their Gel Pedicures last FOREVER as well, no lie I had one that lasted me half a summer until it grew out, I could not believe it and I still had to peel it off. The main technician there that seems to be a manager is so sweet and friendly. I recently stopped waxing my eyebrows and grooming them myself but there is an amazing lady that does eyebrows there and she was the only person I would allow to touch them. There is even a waxing salon next door and I still prefer here. It’s like $8-10 for a brow wax
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Honestly the best grocery store that I have experienced, they have a huge variety, it’s very clean, fresh and constantly stocked with everything. Prices are totally reasonable for NYC and the staff is very friendly. There are two locations I like, the one in Kips Bay and Their location on the upper east side closest to 83rd street.
You really can’t go wrong with Whole Foods, yes it’s pricey yes it’s yuppie. It’s Whole Foods and you know you like it. And I like their upper east side location with two floors.
Grand Central Market
They have a lot here from flowers, to gifts, fresh fruits, meats and cheeses, lots of little booths down a long stretch. It’s a little pricey. The roses here look beautiful for an entire week, they are $5 a stem, worth it if you use for pics.
